Mars Transit Vehicle

In this interdisciplinary, one of a kind studio, I worked alongside two well qualified professors, eight architecture and nine industrial design students. Through NASA's outreach grant, all nineteen of us were able to design an in-transit habitat to Mars. With rigorous research, numerous conference calls with NASA and a three day trip to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas it all became possible. As one of the leaders of a subgroup, I presented to NASA engineers and rocket scientists, creating an experience I will never forget. This project not only tested our limits to conventional 'gravity oriented' design, but it infinitely increased our knowledge beyond the standard architectural studies held at Pratt Institute. This project continued to develop as a year-long endeavor with a full scale mock up displayed at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space museum in the summer of 2016.
